I have a question about my grand daughter's hair problem. She is 5 and her hair continues to fall out at the temples and in one spot in the back of her head. She has very soft and thin hair that looks course but really isn't. When her hair falls out it is little soft puffs. nothing i have tried has been able to make her hair grow in these areas.

How do you keep your freshly grown hair from breaking off after pregnancy?

I heard the tail end of a comment abour yeast on the scalp on your segment of the Steve Harvey AM show. I have psoriasis on my scalp and the rest of my body in spots. What can I do about the scaling on my scalp? I am currently using Derma Smoothe FS oil and it works , however, being a woman of color w/ natural hair it is a little hard to wash my hair every day. Do u have any othe reccommendations for my hair? Now for my skin. I have patches of psoriasis that get scaly and are red and it seems that more are appearing. Is this age (38), diet, lifestyle and what can I do about it? I know this is a lot but I need help. I've been to too many dermatologists that are too busy to deal with the problem and simply medicate and say come back in 2-3 months.

Dr.Maclin,

I listened to you a little this morning on the the Steve Harvey morning show. I was just wondering how can I stop my hair from breaking off. It's all dry and brittle.I wash it every week and when I comb my hair to style it, I always comb out a lot of hair.I just had a baby in May and I can't stop it from breaking off. I've only relaxed it once since the baby was born. What do I do?
